If you have kids, you know how fond they are of electronic equipment. General rule is – the younger the child, the more danger those curious little fingers are likely to pose to your smartphone or tablet. Wouldn’t it be great if your little one had his/her own tablet? Several companies thought so and started producing kid-oriented tablets. Today Samsung joined the party with its Galaxy Tab 3 Kids edition. The device will go on sale in the first days of September and will be available first in Korea and later on in other markets as well, including Europe, the US, South America and more.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids
Hardware-wise, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids is a pretty average offering. The tablet sports a 7-inch display with 1024 x 600 resolution and is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor paired with 1 GB of RAM. The device offers 8 GB of internal memory expandable via microSD slot. The tablet is equipped with a 3-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel user-facing camera. The Galaxy Tab 3 Kids runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and packs a 4,000 mAh battery.
The tablet comes pre-loaded with a selection of children’s apps designed for educational purposes and for fun. More apps can be found on Kid’s Store. Parental control feature allows parents to limit access to the content on Kid’s Store by hiding unwanted apps. Time management app allows parents to control usage time by setting time limits and allowable periods. As soon as the time limit is reached, the tablet will be locked.
The Galaxy Tab 3 Kids will be available will additional accessories such as kid-friendly grip and multiple stand options, as well as a C-Pen stylus.
