HTCAccording to a new report coming our way from China, from ifanr to be more exact, a cheaper and slightly more modest version of the HTC One M8 is currently being prepared for launch. Called the HTC One M8 Ace Vogue, the plastic phone might be released next week, on June 3rd. The handset is rumored to cost RMB3,000, which would be about $481. If the predictions turn out to be true, the One M8 Ace Vogue will be priced right under the Samsung Galaxy S5.

HTC One (M8) Ace Vogue

HTC One M8 Ace VogueIt’s a great news for HTC enthusiasts who can’t afford the current flagship smartphone – the HTC One M8. Keep in mind however that more-budget friendly price suggests lesser specs. Indeed, even though the One M8 Ace Vogue is apparently a close relative to the One M8, the phones are not identical. You don’t have to look very close to spot the differences – they are noticeable at the first glance. Unlike the One M8, the Ace Vogue doesn’t have a metal body. Instead, the phone is made of plastic and its design resembles more the mid-range Desire smartphones that the premium look of the One M8.

Leaked photos show a curved back panel, which seems in line with HTC’s subtle hints. In a recent tweet the company teased “beautiful curves coming soon” and even though the message didn’t mention the Ace Vogue by name, we assume that that’s the phone they were referring to. Unless, there is another curvy device in works that we know nothing about. Anyway, the Ace Vogue will be different from the One M8 in at least one more aspect – the rear camera. The One M8’s Duo Camera was replaced by a regular 13-megapixel shooter with BSI sensor but without UltraPixel technology.

Other specs seem to remain unchanged. That said, the Ace Vogue is expected to sport a 5-inch Super LCD 3 screen with a full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) resolution, a quad-core Snapdragon 801 MSM8974AC SoC clocked at 2.5 GHz and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Other features should include 2 GB of RAM, 16 and 32 GB of internal memory both expandable up to 128 GB, a 2,600 mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat with Sense 6.0 UI on top.
