Pebble Smartwatch for iPhones and Android
The Pebble smartwatch does not feature any ground-breaking technology of futuristic design and it is probably its simplicity that makes it so appealing. The device sports a 144 x 168 pixel black and white e-paper display that remains clear and readable even in direct sunlight. The display has backlight to ensure visibility at night.
The smartwatch is equipped with four buttons, vibrating motor and 3 axis accelerometer with gesture detection. The Pebble watch is compatible with Apple iOS 5 or iOS 6, and Android smartphones with 2.3 version or higher.
How smart exactly is the smartwatch? First and foremost the Pebble is a watch so is displays time. You can choose from a number of watchfaces, from traditional-looking, through digital to modern ones. Because the Pebble is smart, it connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth and display such notifications as incoming calls, text messages, emails, Facebook updates, tweets, weather alerts and more.
The watch can also take advantage of GPS navigation on your phone and display speed, distance and pace data. Depending on how intensively you use your smartwatch, it can work for up to 7 days on one charge.
