Pantech unveils 5.6-inch Vega Secret Up LTE-A phablet with fingerprint reader and privacy protected screen
The Pantech Vega Secret Up is no longer a secret. Pantech has announced its latest high-end phablet this week and it seems that the Korean company planned to end this year with style. The Pantech Vega Secret Up is a high-end device in almost every detail and comes with features that are yet to be become standard in smartphones, such as fingerprint reader for example. The phone will go on sale in Korea later this month and quite possibly will be available in other markets too, including Asia and Europe.
5.6-inch Pantech Vega Secret Up Phablet
The Pantech Vega Secret Up features a 5.6-inch Full HD 1080p display and is powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, which is a must in top-notch smartphones these days. There is 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory as well as 13-megapixel rear camera.
Selfies won’t be an option, though, since there is no front-facing camera. To top it all, the device comes with a massive 3,150 mAh battery. The Pantech Vega Secret Up runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and offers LTE-Advanced connectivity.
These specs could match most high-end phones, but the Pantech Vega Secret Up is not average device. Its uniqueness shows, first of all, in fingerprint reader that is located on the back below the camera. The aim of the sensor is to prevent unauthorized persons from using your phone.
Another interesting bit is the handset’s privacy protected screen, which, according to Pantech, will “only show content to the person using the phone”. It sounds somewhat cryptic and can mean a whole bunch of things but is intriguing at the same time. Finally, the Pantech Vega Secret Up will come with a flip case that supposedly will improve the quality of sound.
