Although it’s not unheard of, it rarely happens that a smartphone hits the stores at the same time it’s announced. We usually have to wait a few days or weeks. Sometimes, however, it takes much longer than a couple of weeks for a phone to go on sale. Take for example the Nokia Lumia 735. The handset debuted way back in September 2014 just before IFA but somehow it managed to avoid US carrier stores until now. After nine long months the Windows phone is at last available in the US via Verizon.
Nokia Lumia 735 for Verizon – Pricing
Verizon Wireless is now offering the Nokia Lumia 735 with three payment options. If you are willing to sign a new two-year contract you can grab the phone for a low price of just $79.99. If you prefer to pay off the phone in monthly installments, you can do so by choosing Verizon Edge plan. In this case, the Lumia 735 will set you back $8 per month. Finally, you can pay full retail price of $192 at checkout and enjoy the device without any commitment.
The Nokia Lumia 735 is a quite modest offering in terms of both the size and hardware. The phone has a 4.7-inch ClearBlack OLED display with 720p resolution which works out to a pixel density of 312ppi and is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 chip. Under its colorful hood, the Lumia 735 has 1GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable memory and a 2,200 mAh removable battery which should be good for up to 23.7 hours of usage time or up to 24 days of standby time.
The main camera has a 6.7-megapixel sensor with Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus and LED flash, while the front panel houses a respectable 5-megpixel selfie shooter capable of 1080p video capture. The Lumia 735 will ship with Windows 8.1 out of the box, however, it’s expected to receive Windows 10 upgrade when the platform is official.
Verizon sure took its sweet time bringing the Lumia 735 to customers but at least is offering the phone at a pretty affordable price compared to other channels. Even though the Lumia 735 is not the most high-end phone on the market, its addition to Verizon network is a good news for Windows Phone fans, since Verizon selection of WP devices is limited, to say the least. The carrier is currently offering only two other WP phone besides the Lumia 735 – the HTC One (M8) Windows and the LG Lancet.
