According to previous reports, Apple’s next-generation iPhone display should enter mass production stage this month. As if to confirm the rumor, earlier today a handful set of photos supposedly portraying the new iPhone internal parts have showed up. The images reveal what is believed to be the first complete display assemblies from Apple’s upcoming new high-end iPhone 5S. The photos are not the highest quality and at first glance they may seem like nothing to get excited about. However, if you look closer you will notice a few interesting details.
Next Generation Apple’s iPhone – What’s new…
To begin with, the assemblies structure as well as the phone’s external design is very similar to the iPhone 5. That was to be expected and it clearly suggests that the upcoming device will be the iPhone 5S rather than a completely redesigned iPhone 6. While at the moment it is not possible to confirm that the leaked photos are genuine, we may have found a piece of evidence that indeed they are.
One element of the display assemblies in both the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 5S is a pair of connectors on flex cables serving as support for the display itself and the digitizer for registering touch input. In the case of the iPhone 5, both flex cable connectors are oriented horizontally. However, in the leaked photo we can see a different arrangement of the connectors – one of them is oriented vertically. This goes nicely with the logic board spotted earlier, that is believed to belong to the iPhone 5S.
