The first social networking-focused smartphones, the HTC ChaCha (in the US knows as the HTC Status) and Salsa, did not make to the top of the Top10 smartphones list, but apparently the company is not giving up. Rumor has it, that another Facebook-oriented HTC handset, the HTC Myst #UL, is on its way and it could arrive as early as this spring. It is speculated that the phone will be carried by AT&T. The ChaCha and Salsa were mid-range devices featuring a dedicated Facebook button. Will the Myst be any different? Let’s see.
HTC Myst, the next social oriented phone
The HTC Myst will sport a 4.3-inch display with 1,280 x 720 resolution at 320 ppi and will be powered by a dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8960 processor. The handset will offer 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. Unfortunately, there is no microSD card slot for storage expansion. The phone will be equipped with two cameras: a 5 megapixel camera on the back and a 1.6 megapixel front-facing shooter for self-portraits to put as profile pics. There is no word on whether the latest UltraPixel technology is being used here.
Other than that, the Myst will come with the usual array of connectivity features such as Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, LTE, and category 14 HSDPA. The phone will run Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and will ship pre-loaded with a full set of Facebook software, including the latest version of the Facebook app, Facebook Messenger, Instagram and more.
Anyone willing to update their status from the Myst?
