New 5-inch Lumia Windows Phone 8.1 phablet coming soon along with Lenovo WP phone

ByinLeaks & Rumors | June 29, 2014

Nokia PhonesRecently we have been focused our attention mostly on Android phones leaving Windows Phone fans feeling a little left out, so now it’s time to catch up on WP devices. According to the latest data shared by AdDuplex, we can expect quite a rain of handsets coming soon with Microsoft’s platform on board. Among them there is a new 5-inch Lumia Windows Phone 8.1 phablet which might arrive along with Lenovo WP phone.

New Windows Phones – What to Expect

Nokia PhonesOut of the two, the Lumia phone seems like a more interesting offering. The phone appears to have three versions with model numbers RM-983, RM-984, and RM-985. Curiously, a few days ago we were tipped of a trio of unannounced Nokia phones codenamed Vela, Athena and Libra. We can’t rule out the possibility that the three models of the new Lumia and the phones that leaked out earlier this week are one and the same. On the other hand, neither can we confirm that.

The upcoming Lumia appears to have a 5-inch display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels which puts the phone in the mid-tier sector. The new Lumia might be a lower-end alternative to the 5-inch Lumia Icon or it could be a successor to the Lumia 720. Screen size and resolution aside, the device remains pretty much a mystery.

Even less is known about the Lenovo phone other than its model number – QRD8x26. It’s quite possible that it’s the WP handset that has been rumored since Lenovo was announced as one of Microsoft’s new Windows Phone hardware partners back in February. The phone is said to be launched before the end of the year.

The Lumia and Lenovo QRD8x26, are the names that easily catch the eye; however, there are more devices on the list, for example LONGCHEER Fly-IQ400W, JSR JSRI7BV1, JSR I7B_1000, Honeywell BLUE PARIS, K-Touch Tianyu5703A3, K-Touch Tianyu5705A2. If these names don’t sound familiar it is because the phones are made by Microsoft’s lesser known partners. Besides, these are just model numbers not commercial names under which the handsets will be sold. Anyway, when we learn more about the unannounced WP phones, we will let you know immediately.
