Motorola seems to have their hands full, recently the company announced the fervently awaited, almost circle Moto 360 smartwatch, as well as the second generation of its Moto X and G series. And just right now some leaks referring the launch of two more completely new devices: Moto DROID Turbo and the Moto S have surfaced online. The Moto S thanks to its massive supposedly 5.9-inch screen locates itself in the phablet sector.
Motorola’s Moto S Phablet – First leaks & Rumors
The new Motorola Moto S has been speculated to be a new Nexus line member (nicknamed: Shamu) or to be the one of the first products of the Android Silver lineup. But, both theories seem to be doubtful, since the Android Silver project was allegedly temporarily halted and simultaneously the fate of Shamu is also called into question.
The discussed leaks presents back cover supposedly belonging to the Motorola’s Moto S. The phone looks really massive, and indeed it is. The rear cover is sized up against those featured by the 2nd gen Moto X and Moto G. The first one houses 5-inch display, the second 5.2-inch one, and both look kind of tiny in comparison to the Moto S. Since the Moto S’s appears to be notably bigger than the two other devices, we may safely assume it will sport 5.6 or 5.9-inch display.
Apart from the large size, the screen is speculated to feature 1440x2560p of resolution. Other rumored tech specs indicate a Snapdragon 805 processor accompanied by the Adreno 420 bearing responsibility for graphics and two cameras. The main sensor is said to be a 13-megapixel one, whereas the front-facing shooter sports 2.1-megapixels, so all selfie- obsessed can definitely feel a bit disappointed.
Looking at the Moto S’s pics, what do you think about it? Does such a big handset have any chances to become successful? Time will verify whether the new phablet-size Moto S will be next Nexus lineup member or a part of the Android Silver project, or simply non of them. In this ocean of speculations, we may be pretty sure of one thing, Motorola is going to be busy with introducing new big and powerful devices to the market.
