The fact is, that lately you don’t have to look very hard to find great deals on smartphones. Such promotions are launched every day by carriers, retailers or mobile makers, however, usually they apply to devices that have been on the market for a while. It’s not very often that you can get for free a handset that was announced merely three weeks before. And yet it sometimes happens. It just happened thanks to Motorola which offers free Moto E with Moto X purchase.
Moto X Pure Edition on sale with free Moto E
The Motorola’s bundle on sale includes the Moto X Pure Edition released in 2014 and the Moto E (2nd Gen) which was launched last month. The Moto X price is pretty standard for a phone of such class. The 16GB model costs $499.99 and for $50 more, that is $549.99, you can have 32GB of memory. Another $50, that is $599.99, will land you a handset with a generous 64GB storage. Both phones are available through the Moto Maker and since the Moto X is customizable, you can personalize it to your preferences.
The second-generation Moto X offers many improvements over its predecessor. Powered by a snappy quad-core 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, the phone packs a 5.2-inch 1080p AMOLED screen, 2GB of RAM and up to 64GB of built-in storage. There is also a 13-megapixel camera on the back, a 2-megapixel user-facing camera and a 2,300 mAh battery.
The Moto E, on the other hand, is a pretty low-end offering. The phone sports 5-inch display with 540 x 960 resolution, 5-megapixel main camera and a VGA secondary camera. The model offered for free is a 3G-only variant so it comes with a Snapdragon 200 processor. Other key features include 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory. Curiously, at 2,390 mAh, the phone’s battery is larger than the one used in the Moto E. Of course, both devices will ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
The deal technically runs through March 24th, however there is always a risk that Motorola might run out of Moto E free units before that day. That said, if you want to grab two phones for the price of one, you’d better place your order sooner rather than later.
