The Motorola DROID RAZR was a big hit, so no wonder that the company decided to manufacture a sequel which will bear the name Droid Ultra. Just like last year’s model, the Motorola Droid Ultra will be launched in MAXX and M variants too. Courtesy of The Unlockr and XDA Developers forum we can take a peek at the phone . The former provided press shots of a black model, while the latter showed us a white variant of the device. The Droid Ultra also will be available in red.

The photos reveal both back and front panels of the phone. The Motorola Droid Ultra features a familiar carbon fiber looking backplate with Kevlar protecting the back and bottom of the phone. The backplate also sports Motorola and Verizon logos, while on the front panel there is only a subtle “M” etched in one of the corners.
Under the display we can see capacitive touch-keys for back, home, and the app-switcher. This is kind of surprising, since many expected Motorola’s more recent design with on-screen softkeys.
The Motorola Droid Ultra is rumored to sport a Full HD display measuring about 5 inches diagonally. The phone will possibly be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor ticking along 2 GB of RAM.
The device might ship with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean right out of the box. There has been a lot of speculation about the handset’s camera, which is said to be a 10-megapixel RBGC sensor. Allegedly, the “C” will be responsible for better handling of white balance and exposure.
Recent rumors put the announcement date at July 11, so we might learn more about all versions of the Droid Ultra very soon.
