The hero of our article from two weeks ago, the Motorola Droid 5 popped up on radar again. On a side note, can you really believe that the it is already the fifth Motorola Droid that is about to be released? The list of rumored specs provided by the Chinese website Weibo was accompanied by photos of the phone which dissipate any doubts about the presence of a physical keyboard. The handset indeed sports a slide-out 5-row QWERTY keyboard, a feature not easy to find on present-day smartphones but still appreciated by many users.
Droid 5 won’t be a high-end smartphone…
From what we hear, the Motorola Droid 5 is not the most high-end device out there, but decent enough to satisfy an average smartphone user. On the other hand, these are nothing more than just rumors, so the final product may surprise you upon the launch. Either way, the next-generation Droid will feature several significant upgrades compared to its predecessor. First of all, the Droid 5 is rumored to sport a 4.3-inch display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and thinner bezels. Furthermore, the device is said to support wireless charging and Near Field Communication.
The Droid 5 will allegedly be powered by a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus with the Adreno 255 for graphics. The phone will supposedly offer only 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory with microSD slot for expansion. The device is also expected to be equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera. On the flip side, the Droid 5 might not be dustproof and water-resistant. What a shame. Other details are scarce at the moment, but the phone appears to be ready for launch so expect more news to come rather soon than later.
