Motorola Moto X+1 leather, wooden and plastic back plates list leak out

ByinLeaks & Rumors | April 13, 2014

Moto XA few days ago rumor surfaced that a new device from Motorola going by the name Moto X+1 was on its way to the market. As soon as we found out about the news, we immediately reported it to you. Since no further details accompanied the tip, there was a shadow of doubt whether the mysterious Moto X+1 would be a smartphone, a tablet or some other kind of companion device to the Moto X. Now we have a confirmation that the Moto X+1 indeed is a phone. We know that thanks of the revealed list of back plates for the Moto X+1.  Interesting is that the list along with plastic and wooden back covers also include new material – leather.

Motorola Moto X+1 Back Plates List

Moto X with Wooden BackApparently, @evleaks found out that the Moto X+1 will be available with a variety of back plates to choose from. It looks like there will be no less than 25 of them, including wood and leather options. Wooden back plates are already on sale with the Moto X. Leather, however, will a completely new option.

There will be four wooden backs (Teak, Bamboo, Rosewood and Ebony) and four leather colors (Black, Red, Grey and Blue). The remaining 17 plates will be made of plastic and will be grouped into three categories: cool (Navy, Turquoise, Olive, Royal Blue and Dark Teal), neutral (Slate, Purple, Smoke, Black and Chalk) and warm (Red, Orange, Lemon Lime, Violet, Crimson, Raspberry and Cabernet).

Swappable back plates clearly suggest that the Moto X+1 will be a customizable phone just like the Moto X. It is not clear, however, whether personalization options will be limited to the backs, follow a similar path to the Moto X or extend even further and, for example, include some elements of hardware. It is also very likely that premium back plates, that is wooden and leather, will be available at additional cost, while the plastic ones will probably be included in the price of the phone.

Keep in mind, though, that at this point it is nothing more than pure speculation. Until Motorola officially announces the Moto X+1 and its plates, we can’t be sure of anything except the fact that we would love to check how the leather back feels like to hold.
