With the Moto G by Motorola proved that it is possible to make a great phone and sell it at affordable price. It is true that the Moto G does not feature any cutting edge technology you will have extremely hard time trying to find a similarly spec’d phone priced at just $179.99. At this price Motorola is selling unlocked Moto G compatible with GSM carriers. Unless you are determined to use your Moto G on AT&T or T-Mobile, you can grab the smartphone even cheaper.
Moto G for Verizon Pre-paid Service
As expected, Verizon released its own version of the Moto G and is offering the phone for just $99.99. No, no contracts will be involved here either. The Moto G for Verizon is sold as a pre-paid phone, which means that you are not required to sign any service agreements with the carrier. The phone is available in Verizon brick and mortar stores and online as well as at Best Buy in stores and online.
Verizon’s version of the Moto G is identical to the GSM model in terms of design and specs. The only difference is a different set of radios since Verizon is a CDMA carrier. The Moto G still packs a 4.5-inch 720p display with Gorilla Glass, a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor and 1 GB of RAM. There is also 8 GB or 16 GB of internal memory, a 5-megapixel main camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera and a 2,070 mAh battery. The phone runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, but update to 4.4 KitKat is on its way.
