There are many folks out there who are willing to make many sacrifices to get their hands on a brand new iPhone 5S as soon as it arrives at the store. Those brave souls do not fear waiting long hours in huge lines knowing that at the end of the day they will go to bed with their dream phone quietly resting on the bedside table. And then they are those who prefer to buy their iPhone 5S while comfortably sitting on the couch in their houses, even if it means waiting weeks for it to be delivered.
Apple iPhone 5S Personal Pickup Feature
There was also in-between option. You could reserve the phone online and later pick it up at your local Apple Store on a day of your choosing. The option was available to customers last week but was pulled after just one day. It was speculated that Apple decided on such a move because demand for the new iPhone exceeded supply, and moreover Apple wanted to give priority to walk-in customers. However, it turns out that the whole confusion was caused by a glitch.
9to5Mac learnt that Apple is going to reintroduce the Personal Pickup feature tomorrow, September 30th. At the same time, “queue card” system for walk-in purchases will remain unchanged for the time being. The iPhone 5S keeps selling like hot buns. Out of the three color options offered by Apple, the gold model appears to be the most popular among customers.
