In practice it means that for instance if you decide to buy one of the discussed phones straight from the carrier, you will not only receive the $100 rebate, but you can also trade in your existing phone which should help you save even up to $300 more. So, in other words if you for example buy the LG G4 from Verizon paying its full retail price of $552, you will get it for just $152, assuming that your existing phone is worth $300.
