LG Optimus L70Earlier this month we got a tip from reliable source that the LG Optimus L90 and LG Optimus L70 were on their way to the US and expected to land on T-Mobile and Metro PCS, respectively. As always, we didn’t miss the chance to report about upcoming new phones coming to the market. Unsurprisingly, the rumors proved to be fairly accurate and both phones appeared today in carriers’ stores.

LG Optimus L90 vs. LG Optimus L70

LG Optimus L90The LG Optimus L90 for T-Mobile is listed already online and is scheduled to be available for purchase on April 30th. Rumor has it that the phone may be launched on April 24th but lets leave it for now as a pure speculation. The fact is that the phone will set you back $0 down with 24 equal monthly installments of $9.50 or $228 outright.

The LG Optimus L70 for Metro PCS is already available in local stores and should be ready for purchase online any moment now. The handset is priced at $49 after a $100 instant rebate. Moreover, for a limited time the carrier is offering a $49 discount for customers who pay for two months of service in advance, essentially making the LG Optimus L70 available for free.

Both phones belong to LG’s L Series III lineup which was announced earlier this year. The LG Optimus L90 is the bigger of the two and features a 4.7-inch IPS display with 960 x 540 resolution and a pixel density of 234 ppi. As expected, there is a quad-core 1.2 GHz processor on board along with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory expandable up to 32 GB.

The phone packs a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 1080p video capture, as well as a VGA front-facing shooter. The Optimus L90 is LTE-capable and offers Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. The handset ships with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box and is powered by a battery capable of delivering up to 6 hours of talk time or up to 144 hours of standby time.

With its 4.5-inch 800 x 400 display, the LG Optimus L70 is smaller than its T-Mobile sibling. Under the hood the phone has a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor paired with 1 GB of RAM, and 4 GB of internal memory expandable up to 32 GB via microSD slot. Just like the L90, the Optimus L70 runs Android 4.4 KitKat and has a 5-megapixel rear camera and a VGA sensor on the front.

Other features include 4G connectivity, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 2040 mAh battery which should be good for up to 12 hours of talk time or up to 528 hours of standby time.
