ByinLeaks & Rumors | March 27, 2014

Verizon Yet another LG phone will be on its way to Verizon prepaid service along with the LG Optimus Zone 2, and we know that thanks to a press image that has just leaked out on Twitter. Wanna try and guess who is responsible for the tip? Well, of course @evleaks who, as always, is doing a great job by giving us heads-up on unannounced upcoming devices. The phone in question is the LG Optimus Exceed 2 and is expected to join its brethren on Verizon prepaid service in the near future.

LG Optimus Exceed 2 Prepaid Phone for Verizon

LG Optimus Exceed 2The LG Optimus Exceed 2 is the second LG prepaid phone that is believed to be headed to Big Red network any time soon. Two days ago @evleaks twitted a render of the Verizon-bound LG Optimus Zone 2. Unlike the Zone 2, which appears to be very low-end handset, the Optimus Exceed 2 will offer somewhat more high-end specs and features. The phone is a successor to the Optimus Exceed launched last year which in turn was a rebranded and slightly redesigned version of the LG Lucid from 2012.

Running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the LG Lucid featured a 4-inch screen, a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor, 5-megapixel camera and LTE connectivity. The Exceed was almost identical save for the LTE radio simply because it’s not supported by Verizon’s pre-paid service. There is no question that the Exceed 2 will receive some upgrades, however, at the moment we can’t really tell you what those would be.

The handset screen will probably still measure around 4 inches. It may grow a little but most likely won’t be bigger that 4.5 inches. As for the processor, a Snapdragon 400 seems like a plausible option. The camera wasn’t a bad choice for a lower-end phone so it’s a safe bet that the manufacturer won’t touch it. If so, we still will be looking at a 5-megapixel sensor. The handset could ship with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean or a higher version.

The LG Optimus Exceed came to the market with a price tag of $129.99. Depending on how well LG decided to equip the Exceed 2, the phone could be a tad more expensive but shouldn’t cost more than $199.99 off contract.
