Since we are pretty much at the end of the year we already saw all those great and not-so-great smartphones debuts and we simply want more. No wonder then that the rumor mill has already started to process leaks concerning flagships for 2016. Being one of the most fervently awaited follow-ups for the next year, the LG G5 surfaced online one more time revealing a quite complete list of specs and some primary camera sensor details.
What to expect from the LG G5
For starters, judging by the leaked photo the LG G5 will come closed in a slightly curved body case that most probably will be made out of metal just like the one featured by its predecessor. Apparently, the handset will lack the famous leather back cover found in the LG G4. Another big visual change can be also observed in the design of the back camera, which according to the leaked pics will take a protruding form factor. As for the back camera itself, it is discussed to consist of two sensors with laser focus. One will be a 16MP snapper whereas the other is said be a 8MP unit. Naturally, the dual primary sensors will receive an additional backup from an 8MP definitely selfie-friendly front-facing shooter.
Moving on, the handset will house a rather compact as for current standards 5.3-inch Quad HD screen panel with stunning pixel density of 640ppi, which will surely help the device win all those customers opting for a smaller size factor handsets.
Although the source of the leak doesn’t give any specific details regarding the phone’s processing powers, previous rumors suggested it can arrive powered by either a Snapdragon 820 or its successor since some time ago Qualcomm announced releasing a new chipset. If everything comes in line with their launching plans and they won’t face any timing issues the G5 may be one of the first phones to employ the chip. Furthermore, the chipset will most likely be coupled with 3GB RAM and house the Adreno 530 GPU which normally accompanies the Snapdragon 820.
Other rumored features include, fingerprint scanner similar to this found in the LG V10, pressure sensor set in the phone’s display and IR blaster on top, microSD and SIM card slot (located on the right) and a heart rate sensor. Despite battery capacity parameters are still quite a mystery, the latest leak suggests that the unit may be non-removable, which means that the phone will lack one of the mostly appreciated in the G4 features.
LG is keeping up with its rivals like Samsung in the smartphone arena. The company is trying to keep any and all gaps to a minimum especially after the success of their LG G2 model from 2014. As a result of the success of the G2, LG caught Google’s attention and created a strong partnership giving consumers the G3, Nexus 4, Nexus 5, and the LG G4 which was the flagship for 2015.
The LG G4 impressed many users with its leather-backed design, performance, and great camera quality which has many consumers wondering what LG has in store for their newest flagship. Based on speculations, it appears that LG is addressing the few shortcomings of the G4 for the G5 which is rumored to be released sometime between February and April 2016 however that is not confirmed yet. Although the latest leaked information includes an image and some specifications, nothing has been released from an official source so some things may change over time.
As for launching details, the LG G5 is expected to debut between February and April 2016.
