Few days ago we reported about LG announcing ‘test drive’ of the upcoming flagship smartphone giving opportunity 4,000 enthusiasts to test the LG G4 before purchasing it. Today, more than two weeks before the LG G4 official announcement, the South Korean manufacturer accidentally unveiled the phone in its whole beauty including great number of phone’s images along with pretty complete list of hardware and features.
LG G4 made its first public appearance
Scheduled to debut on April 28, the LG G4 made its first public appearance via company’s official website. Having gone viral for several hours the phone’s product page has been already taken down. Information published on the LG website comply with what we’ve already learnt about the device including the back clad dressed in genuine leather available in few different shades that give the phone a truly premium look. Additionally, the phone will be also sold with standard textured plastic back cover accessible in dark gray, white and gold color options.
Moving on to the hardware side, the LG G4 will arrive equipped with a 5.5-inch QHD IPs Quantum display which is said to deliver outstanding rich color reproduction combined with great energy efficiency. Despite the fact that the G4 will sport such a massive screen, the phone appears to feel naturally in hand thanks to the Slim Arc Design and body measuring only 149.1 x 75.3 x 8.9mm. LG, however, didn’t put on site information regarding smartphone’s weight.
Furthermore, the leak confirms the phone to come with a microSD card slot and a pretty powerful replaceable 3,000 mAh battery. What’s strange, the site didn’t mention anything about the handset processor nor its RAM capacity, which are highly probable to be eventually represented by the Snapdragon 810 coupled with 3GB RAM.
When it comes to the G4’s optics, the phone will debut with a 13MP main camera (interestingly enough the company confirmed applying 16MP shooter) featuring f/1.8 lens, dual flash, laser focus and second generation optical image stabilization and full manual mode.
As you’ve probably noticed the LG G4 list of parameters suspiciously strongly resembles a fusion of previously leaked specs regarding the phone with those found in the LG G3. Most of the discussed parameters simply confirmed previous leaks. However, one spec leaked today is definitely incorrect. Which? Well the mentioned product page stated that LG G4 will run Android 4.4.2 Kitkat instead of the latest Android Lollipop, which is the most obvious and reasonable OS choice available on the market if the company wants to keep the pace of the times. What means that at this point we should take all published today information with a pinch of salt.
