The LG G3 has been very popular recently. Mere three days after live photos of the phone leaked out, another set of images popped up to the public. This time round we are treated to official press renders which showed up three weeks ahead of the handset’s unveiling scheduled for May 27th. The event will take place in three cities – London, New York, and San Francisco. A day later, on May 28th, the LG G3 will be announced in Singapore, Istanbul, and Seoul.
LG G3 may feature stylus pen.
Assuming that all the images we are seeing are indeed of the LG G3, and at this point we have little reason to believe they are not, it’s safe to say that the design of the phone is no longer a secret. Previously leaked photos showed the device from all sides but one – the top edge.
The press render filled in that missing piece. The top of the phone shows a tiny screw apparently holding two panel of the handset together, a small pinpoint that appears to be a noise cancellation mic and another element no one really expected.
At a first glance it looks like a headphone jack, except it’s too big. Besides, previously leaked photos placed the headphone jack on the bottom edge, so obviously it has to be something else. It’s seems to be just the right size and shape to fit a stylus inside. Wouldn’t that be cool if the LG G3 featured stylus support?
The renders also confirm what we already found out from earlier leaks – the rear placement of volume and power buttons. The buttons, however, received a complete overhaul. Other components located on the back include, a camera allegedly with a 13-megapixel sensor, dual-LED flash and what appears to be IR blaster.
The front panel houses a large display with a rumored resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The render once again confirms incredibly thin bezels. The upcoming LG G3 is said to be powered by a Snapdragon 800 or Snapdragon 801 processor and is expected to arrive in two versions – one with 16 GB of internal memory and 2 GB of RAM, the other with 32 GB of storage and 3 GB of RAM. Other rumored features include Optical Image Stabilization, a 3,000 mAh battery and microSD support.
