Recently we have been observing an interesting trend. Smartphones keep growing in size reaching tablet measurements, but at the same time more and more manufacturers are introducing mini versions of these phones. And it’s a good thing that they are, because not everyone is ready to carry around a phone of the size of a small book. In most cases, these mini versions are slimmed down in terms of specs too. In other words, the HTC One Mini or Galaxy S4 Mini does not carry the same hardware as the original HTC One or Galaxy S4. There are, however, exceptions from this rule and the rumored LG G2 Mini appears to be one of them.
LG G2 Mini – Rumors & Speculations
The LG G2 Mini is expected to be announced at upcoming next month Consumer Electronic Show – CES 2014. By the time it happens all we have is a bunch of rumors and speculations flying around but you shall know that none of them have been confirmed by LG so far.
With a 4.7-inch display, the LG G2 Mini would not be exactly “mini”, however, compared to the 5.2-inch LG G2 the difference would be hard to overlook. Resolution is unknown at this point, but it is safe to say that it would be either 720p HD or 1020p Full HD.
The LG G2 Mini is expected to pack a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, exactly the same as the original G2. Other rumored features include 2 GB of RAM and possibly Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. So far there is no word about the presence of fingerprint sensor or the camera resolution.
On a side note, according to the latest reports, the original G2 is not selling as good as LG has hoped it would. This may be one of the reasons behind that Korean company decided to prepping a mini version of the flagship phone.
