With the exception of Nokia, which is famous for its colorful phones, most manufacturers make their phones in black and white color options. On rare occasions another hue is added here and there which is always nice to see, especially in a premium smartphone like the LG G2. The phone soon will be available in two new limited edition colors – red and gold. In Korea both versions will be priced the same as black and white, that is $496 and $562 for the 16 GB and 32 GB models, respectively. Customers in Singapore will be able to grab the red or gold G2 starting January 18th for about $701 from Starhub, SingTel and M1.
LG G2 Limited Edition in Red and Gold
The new color options come right on time to celebrate Chinese New Year. On a side note, red and gold (especially red) are the colors associated with Chinese New Year, which may be a pure coincidence but anyway is interesting to know.
Back to the G2, both the red and gold variants will have textured back plates in contract to the black and white models which have shiny finish. Thanks to this detail, you should be able to hold the device more securely. The aesthetic experience should also be improved without fingerprints all over the back of the phone.
New color aside, the LG G2 is still the same handset you know and love. It means that you will get the same 5.2-inch Full HD display, powerful Snapdragon 800 chip, 2 GB of RAM and physical buttons located on the back below a 13-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization.
