LG G Pro 2 Lite may arrive to Verizon as LG G Vista

ByinLeaks & Rumors | June 29, 2014

VerizonWe already know that Verizon Wireless is gearing up to release the new LG G3. Unless we collide with an asteroid or another equally catastrophic event takes place, the G3 will hit the stores next month. However, it’s not the only LG phone that is going to make an appearance on the Big Red network in the near future. According to the latest report, the second handset will be the LG G Pro 2 Lite and it may arrive as LG G Vista.

LG G Vista LG-VS985 points to Verizon

LG G VistaIn early March an resourceful tipster dug up information regarding a mysterious LG phone codenamed B1lite. Information taken out of the camera app of the LG G Pro 2 revealed the code name B2 so it makes perfect sense that the B1lite would be a slimmed down version of the G Pro 2. Known as the LG G Pro 2 Lite, the phone apparently has a model number LG-VS985 which points to destination Verizon.

Fast forward to the second half of June and @evleaks tweets Verizon ad for a rubberized shell/holster combo for a device called LG G Vista. At first glance it may seem like two completely unrelated pieces of information, but we can assure you that there is a connection. According to the omniscient leakster, the LG G Vista has a model number LG-VS985. Now, why does it sound familiar? Oh, yeah – that’s the same model number as the LG G Pro 2 Lite.

Why not save yourself a trouble and release the phone as the LG G Pro 2 Lite? It would be much simpler but Verizon doesn’t like shortcuts. In fact, the carrier likes detours and often gives its own names to phones. Take for example the Nokia Lumia 930 which was launched under this name everywhere else except for Verizon – the carrier is calling the device Lumia Icon.

As for the LG G Pro 2 Lite / G Vista specs, they remain in the sphere of speculation for now. The phone most likely will have the same 5.9-inch display as the G Pro 2 but at the moment we don’t know anything else regarding the rest of the specs. Unless @evleaks is wrong, and he rarely is, we will find out soon enough, hopefully next month.
