A new LG smartphone with model number E940 was spotted in the GLBenchmark database, and it is not just any smartphone but appears to be a truly high-end device which may be the next LG’s flagship smartphone. AT&T subscribers can now start clapping their hands since it looks like the LG E940 will be headed to this carrier, whether exclusively or not it remains to be seen.
The new LG phone will have an impressively high-res display of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Its size still remains a secret but something around 5 inches in diagonal seems like a safe bet. The model of the processor has not been specified, but since there is Adreno 320 GPU on board, a 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro chip is very probable. Some source also mention 2 GB of RAM.
The tested unit runs Android 4.1.1, but there are chances, that by the time the E940 will be released the operating system will get bumped to 4.2 Jelly Bean version. Other specs like the battery capacity, cameras, on-board storage and the existence or lack thereof of a microSD card slot remain a mystery and at this point are only subject of speculation.
There is no word on when the phone will see the light of day, but since other companies like HTC, Samsung or Sony are working hard on their flagship phones, probably sooner than later.
