Mostly known for manufacturing computing devices, Lenovo is a pretty new player in the smartphone segment of the market. It does not mean that the company is keeping a low profile focusing on entry-level devices, though. Quite the contrary. The recently unveiled high-end phablet, Lenovo Vibe Z, is not going to be for the faint-hearted. Exact availability and pricing is yet to be announced, however, words on the street is that the phone soon will be available for pre-order from Lenovo China’s website.
Lenovo Vibe Z – Specs and Features
The new addition to the Vibe lineup is obviously related to the Vibe X but comes with several significant upgrades. The Lenovo Vibe Z’s IPS LCD screen measures 5.5-inches diagonally and offers full HD (1080p) resolution at 400 ppi. The phone’s slim body houses dual-SIM tray and quad-core 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 800 processor with Adreno 330 GPU and 2 GB of RAM. Lenovo did not reveal the battery size, but according to test results its should provide up to 278.5 hours of standby time.
Lenovo dedicated a lot of attention to the camera. Sony IMX135 camera packs 1/3.06″ Exmor-RS sensor with 13-megapixel resolution and a fast f/1.8 lens. Other features include backside illuminated sensor, wide aperture, proprietary image processing algorithms, with the dual-LED flash on top. In addition, there is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with a wide-angle lens, 84°.
The Lenovo Vibe Z will be available with a special flip cover that will come in many vibrant colors, including orange, yellow, silver, green, red, pink, violet and navy blue. The nifty accessory, which takes some cues from the S View Covers from Samsung and Quick Window cases from LG, has a special area that allows you to reject or answer the incoming call without having to flip the cover.
