Yesterday, Lenovo has unveiled two new smartphones at IFA 2014, which is currently taking place in Berlin. The new offerings include the ‘multi-layered’ Lenovo Vibe X2 and apparently one of the best selfie phones – the Lenovo Vibe Z2. In short, the Vibe X2 is basically an elegant, well designed handset while the Vibe Z2 sports a powerful camera located in the front backed with cool features.
Lenovo Vibe X2 Pretty ‘Multi-layered’ Phone
The Lenovo Vibe X2 stands out of the crowd with its pioneer is its multi-layered metal design. The company designed the handset with three separate sheets of metal, each of a different hue. It will be available in the following colors: White, Gold, Red and Dark Grey. Despite of the multi-layer built the phone is only 5.1 mm thick.
The Vibe X2 is powered by a MediaTek MT6596 chip, which is the first MediaTek chipset to come with built-in LTE support. The phone sports a 5-inch full HD screen with a resolution of 1920x 1080 runs Android 4.4 KitKat and the power delivers a 2,600 mAh battery. The handset also comes with a battery case that adds 75% battery to the device. The phone will come in single and dual-sim variants.
As far as imaging needs are concerned, this device sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel shooter located in the front. The rear camera comes with a back illuminated sensor and LED flash. On the other hand, the front-facing unit comes with auto-shutter gesture controls which can be configured to take a shot with a smile or just a blink of an eye.
The phone offers users 32 GB of internal storage, however, there is no word it can be expanded via microSD card. The Vibe X2 speaker lets one make hand-free calls with the built-in microphone and also functions as a means of amplifying sound.
The new Lenovo smartphone is priced as 399 USD without contract. First it will be available in China in October, and subsequently in Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
Lenovo Vibe Z2 Takes Selfies to the Next Level
The Lenovo Vibe Z2 sports a 5.5-inch 720 p display, powered by Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8916 64-bit SoC. The 64-bit SoC enables the device to hold more than 4 GB of RAM, which is something that no smartphone has offered to users before. Also, thanks to the processor, the phone is ready for the 64-bit Android L upgrade. The handset currently operates on Android 4.4 KitKat and the show runs 3,000 mAh battery.
The phone boasts of an impressive cameras including a 13-megapixel rear camera with Sony Exmor BSI sensor and Optical Lens Stabilization. As we mentioned earlier, the Lenovo Vibe Z2 is one of the best selfie phones coming to the market. The 8-megapixel selfie-shooter in the front is paired with distortion-free lens and set of beautification features, plus button-free shutter control and an Instant On camera functionality.
The Vibe Z2 will be priced at 430 USD and will make its debut in October in China alongside the Lenovo Vibe X2 and will subsequently make its way to other countries where Lenovo handsets are currently offered
