Lenovo decided to follow in the footsteps of Oppo and Meitu and announced a new smartphone targeting a very specific group of customers – women. The Lenovo S820 may not be as feminine as other two manufacturers’ offerings, but its vivid redness, soft curves and velvet finish leave no room for doubt which gender the phone is aimed at. The Lenovo S820 is now available for pre-order for ¥1,999, which is about $330. The device should start shipping this month together with free Bluetooth headset and 8GB microSD card for free to pre-order customers.

The Lenovo S820 sports a 4.7-inch 720p HD IPS display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution, being just the perfect size to fit in a purse. The handset features a 13-megapixel rear camera and a secondary shooter. However, the front-facing camera is not as impressive as the ones you can find on the Oppo Ulike 2 or MeituKiss. Instead it offers an average 2-megapixel sensor.
The phone houses a quad-core 1.2 GHz MediaTek processor, 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of internal memory. The storage capacity is rather humble by today’s standards, but luckily there a microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 32 GB. The S820 has a flexible removable back cover which hides a removable 2,000 mAh battery and dual-SIM slots (WCDMA 2100 and GSM 900/1800/1900). The phone will ship with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box.
