If you feel that you are not ready for a smartphone just yet, there is no need to force yourself to buy one just because all your friends have iPhones or Android phones. There are plenty of feature phones out there that are functional, stylish and most importantly affordable. Lets take for example the new Kyocera Verve messaging phone featuring QWERTY keyboard which soon will be coming to Sprint and two of its prepaid subsidiaries – Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile.
Kyocera Verve Text Messaging Phone
The Kyocera Verve is a text messaging phone for users, who don’t need a smartphone to stay in touch with friends or family. The phone comes equipped with a 2.4-TN-TFT display, a QSC 6155 chipset, 256 MB RAM, and 512 MB of storage space. In addition to a numeric keypad on the front panel, the phone also features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard with four rows of with well-defined buttons for convenient and fast text messaging.
As of the camera, the phone offers 2-megapixel snapper with auto focus and 2x zoom that takes care of photographic experience. A 1,100 mAh battery provides enough power to deliver up to 6.3 hours of talk time or up to 261 hours of standby time. Other features include GPS navigation, USB data connection for using the handset as a modem, and Windows Media Transfer Protocol support.
The Kyocera Verve also offers a variety of accessibility features making it a convenient device for elderly as well as hearing and vision impaired users. The handset not only offers TTY/TDD support for the hearing-impaired but also comes with updated voice translation and text-to-speech features, high-contrast user-interface options, large menu fonts and dedicated In Case of Emergency (ICE) and 911 shortcuts.
The Sprint version of the phone is scheduled to go on sale on April 11th through Sprint local stores, dealers, online web store and telesales for $0 down and 24 monthly payments of only $5.42. Boost Mobile prepaid service will start selling the Kyocera Verve on May 6th for $49.99 without contract. The phone will be up for grabs at Boost Mobile’s exclusive retail stores, select independent wireless dealer locations nationwide and the carrier’s online store. Virgin Mobile will release the device on May 13th for $39.99 with payLo service where it will be offered under the name Kyocera Contact.
The Kyocera Verve will be available in grey, pink and navy-blue color options.
