After Boost Mobile and US Cellular, starting this Friday, two more carriers will be offering the high-end Apple’s iPhone 5S and the mid-range iPhone 5C. On December 13th Straight Talk and Net10 will add both iPhones to their portfolio, this way joining the still expanding list of carriers offering Apple’s latest smartphones. Both, the iPhone 5S and 5C will be available with 16 GB of storage and will be priced at $649 and $549, respectively, that is $50 off the standard retail price. You will find both iPhones at Walmart online and in brick and mortar stores. The iPhone 5C will be available online only, though.
Net10 & Straight Talk iPhones – Pricing
As you may know, both Straight Talk nor Net10 are pre-paid carriers and do not require signing up long term contracts. Therefore the latest iPhones won’t be offered at subsidized cost meaning that you will have to buy them at full retail price. However, customers who have a Walmart Credit Card will be able to take advantage of the retailer’s special in-store financing promotion. Devices purchased with the credit card through December 31st can be paid off with no interest.
The period to pay off the device ranges from 18 to 24 months depending on the price. The iPhone 5S, which is priced higher than $599, will be eligible for 24-month payoff period. Since the iPhone 5C is cheaper, you will have 18 months to pay off the phone.
Both Straight Talk and NET10 offer month-to-month plans that include unlimited talk, text and data out of which 2.5 GB is high-speed. Straight Talk plans start at $45 per month with an option of unlimited international calling for additional $15 per month. Net10 offers Friends and Family plans for $50 per month for the first line and $40 for each additional line.
