Ten days after official announcement, both Apple’s new devices, the flagship iPhone 5s and the budget iPhone 5c, are now available for purchase from Apple’s stores around the world and various retail outlets. The prices of the iPhone 5s begin at $199 for the 16 GB model, with a two-year carrier contract naturally. The iPhone 5c, on the other hand, is priced at $99 on contract. The phones hit the stores across the US and in all major Apple markets in Europe and in Asia. It is predicted that this year’s launch will be the biggest ever, because for the first the new iteration of iPhone goes on sale in China from day one.
iPhone 5s vs. iPhone 5c – new color options…
The iPhone 5s was undoubtedly one of the most anticipated handsets of this year. Needless to say, lines forming on front of Apple stores were huge. Analyst and Apple watcher Gene Munster reports that the line in front at Apple’s 5th Avenue NYC store was the longest in the history. It was formed by as many as 1,417 people waiting to get their hands on Apple’s latest offering. Other locations did not break any records, however, it is estimated that there were hundreds of people waiting in line at each store.
With the new generation of the iPhone, Apple introduced new color options. The iPhone 5c is available in white, pink, yellow, blue and green, which can be kind of a shocker to those who are used to traditional black and silver options. Also the iPhone 5s offers more choice in terms of color. In addition to silver and black, the handset also comes in gold. The gold model, which aroused some discussions when it was first rumored, proved to be the most popular choice among customers. This particular version has been sold out already at many locations and Apple store pushed the shipping date to October.
