The countdown is – right now the largest retailers across the country together with smaller ones and carriers will offer the best devices on the market with massive discounts. It’s going to be a crazy day so with those customers in mind who don’t feel like being elbowed in the ribs or having their feet treaded on, many retailers and carriers, for instance T-Mobile, start celebrating early. That said, if you need a free cool phone, the Magenta carrier is your destination.
Want to score a free flagship phone from Apple, Samsung or LG? Check out T-Mobile’s newly announced Black Friday deal.
Let’s start by saying that by “cool” we mean five of the best smartphones that were released this year, that is the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge and LG V20. And yes, you can have any one of these awesome devices at absolutely no cost, though as you might have suspected, you will need to give T-Mobile something in return. To be more precise, the network will ask for your older phone, but not just any phone.
How to get a flagship for free
First of all, the device you will be trading in must be fully paid off. Moreover, in order to qualify for the deal, it must be fairly recent. For example, if you want to get the iPhone 7 or the Galaxy S7 for free, you should trade in a flagship phone that is no older than one year, such as the iPhone 6S, 6S Plus, Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, LG G5 and a few more models. This year’s offerings are eligible as well. If, however, you aim for the iPhone S7 Plus, Galaxy S7 Edge or LG V20, the only way to get any of these phones for free is by trading in an iPhone 7 Plus, Galaxy S7 Edge or LG V20.
How to trade in an older phone
If you own an older device, though you will have to pay something upfront but the discounts are still huge. Trading in a two-generation-old devices like the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, iPhone SE, Galaxy S6, Note 4, LG G4 or LG V10 will get you the iPhone 7 or Galaxy S7 for just $100. Even the almost forgotten now iPhone 5, 5S, and 5C is eligible for the deal – any of these models will allow you to grab the iPhone 7 or Galaxy S7 for $350.
As far as the iPhone 7 Plus, Galaxy S7 Edge and LG V20 are concerned, if you trade in one of last year’s models mentioned above (iPhone S6, Galaxy S6, LG G5, etc), the device will set you back $100. You will pay two times more ($200) if the phone you are trading in is two years old. Finally, if you want to put your iPhone 5, 5S or 5C to good use, it will get you the iPhone 7 Plus or Galaxy S7 Edge for $450.
In addition to offering the latest flagships for free (or at a fraction of their regular price), T-Mobile is also paying customers to switch to its network. The carrier is giving $200 for each line, and since the deal is good for up to 12 lines, it means that a large family can earn as much as $2,400. Moreover, unlike most similar offers, you won’t be getting the money in bill credit but in the form of a prepaid Mastercard which you can use to buy whatever you wish.
T-Mobile also has a nice gift for non-Magenta customers. Starting today through November 26, every single person can get an hour of free Gogo inflight Wi-Fi on their smartphones.
These deals join the offers announced by T-Mobile last week. Knowing the network’s love for surprises, though, chances are that the Magenta team will come up with something else to make us smile on Black Friday.
