Huawei Mulan appears in live photos, expected to arrive as Huawei Glory 6 or Honor 6

ByinLeaks & Rumors | June 16, 2014

Huawei Honor 6Wondering what’s Huawei been up to recently besides opening a store in the US? Working on new phones, obviously. The upcoming addition to the company’s high-end lineup is codenamed Huawei Mulan, which may sound familiar to the younger part of the audience, though it doesn’t appear that the company was in any way inspired by Disney’s character. In fact, the phone is expected to be the next flagship that arrive to market as Huawei Glory 6 or Huawei Honor 6 and besides its name we can also take a pick how the device looks like as it has just leaked out in live photos.

Huawei Mulan aka Huawei Glory 6 or Honor 6

Huawei MulanThe Huawei Mulan aka Huawei Glory 6 / Honor 6 showed up for the first time in leaked renders a few days ago. Surprisingly, there are some discrepancies between the renders and the recent images of the actual phone. It could mean one of two things – either someone was a bit too creative while preparing the render or Huawei hasn’t said the last word on the design. If that’s the case, the Honor 6 might look different when it hits the stores.

Anyway, the photos show a pretty slim handset with glossy white body supposedly made of metal. Thanks to thin bezels the screen takes up a significant portion of the front panel. There’s just enough space for capacitive buttons below and user-facing camera above the display. On the back is the main camera with LED flash below which sits a square component which appears to be a fingerprint scanner.

The Huawei Honor 6 is rumored to feature a 5-inch Full HD display and could be powered by an 8-core Kirin 920 processor clocked at 1.3 GHz per core. Other features said to be present on the flagship phone include 3 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory, microSD slot for storage expansion, 13-megapixel main camera and 5-megapixel front-facing shooter, both capable of 1080p video capture. The system of choice appears to be Android 4.4 KitKat with Huawei’s custom Emotion 2.3 user interface.

The Honor 6 / Glory 6 is expected to debut at an event in Beijing on June 24th. At the moment, it’s unclear how much it will cost and when it will be available for purchase or if it will ever be offered outside of China. Would you like to see it in Huawei’s US store?
