Huawei Honor TabletHuawei has just introduced the 8-inch Honor Tablet to the Malaysian market. The compact slate is said to be closer to a large smartphone than any other tablets. The Honor Tablet is capable to make and answer phone calls just as well as type and receive text messages. The pre-orders start in Malaysia on October 29th with price starting as a equivalent of $184.

Huawei Honor Tablet that can be used as a smartphone.

Huawei Honor TabletThe expected to be launched on October 16th Honor Tablet offers its future customers a full-view-angle HD 8-inch IPS display featuring 1280x800p of resolution, which means a pixel density of 188 ppi. There is also a quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor clocked at 1.2GHz and paired with 1GB RAM and 16GB of built-in storage that can be easily expanded via microSD cards. Is it only my opinion, or you agree with me that the Snapdragon 200 chipset isn’t the best choice as for the tablet? We surely except something stronger.

As it comes to the optics, its feature users receive a decent 5-megapixel main shooter supported by a 3-megapixel front-facing one. The 4,800 mAh battery supplies the power for the energy consuming massive screen which is said to deliver up to 13 hours of work and play.

The device supports Wi-Fi, GPS and 3G HSPA+ connectivity with transfer speed up to 42Mbps. Speaking of software, the Honor Tablet runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Huawei’s Emotion IU 1.6 installed on the top of it. All these is closed in a perfectly slim 7.9 mm thin body that weights only 360 grams.

The debuting in Malaysia tablet with 3G connectivity can be pre-ordered via VMall.my website. It is worth mentioned that every 50th buyer enters a special contest in which he or she can win a free Huawei Honor Tablet. It shouldn’t make us wonder that Malaysia is the initial market for the Honor Tablet, since according to the recent reports by IDC tablets with telephony under the hood are selling briskly in Asia (except Japan).

Sadly, as for now there’s no word on the slate’s global premiere and availability. Perhaps, it will never hit the shelves of the US retailers. But, be sure we will keep you posted if any further information concerning the Huawei Honor Tablet comes to the light.
