Ever since the Huawei Ascend P6 was released last year, it has been speculated that the phone will have a successor. And indeed it will. Known as the Ascend P7, the first rumors about the handset started popping out in early February. The timing seemed to suggest that the device would make an appearance at the MWC 2014, however, to disappointment of curious spectators and potential users, Huawei didn’t bring the Ascend P7 to the show. Anyway, over the last three months new leaks have been appearing regularly on the web, the last one including even live photos of the smartphone unveiling its premium design.
Huawei Ascend P7 Premium Smartphone
The leaked photos confirm that the Huawei Ascend P7 will look very similar to its predecessor, which is a good thing. Last year’s Ascend P6 was, and still is, a beautiful offering. It was also the slimmest Android phone at the time of its release. The Ascend P7 keeps the same rectangular design with metallic back, edges and buttons. The profile appears to be very slim, though we are not sure if it’s going to break any records. Even if it won’t, the Ascend P7 still looks much more attractive than ordinary smartphone.
Appearance is not everything, though. Impression created by premium design will wear off pretty quickly if a phone comes with poor hardware and software. Luckily, it won’t be the case with the Ascend P7. The phone is expected to feature a 5-inch display with 1080p resolution as well as a quad-core HiSilicon 910 processor clocked at 1.6 GHz. Rumors also mention 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory expandable through microSD card.
It seems that a 13-megapixel camera is located on the back, while at the front panel sits an impressive 8-megapixel sensor. The Ascend P7 is said to support LTE connectivity and pack a 2,460 mAh battery. The OS of choice will be Android 4.4 KitKat with Huawei’s latest Emotion 2.0 UI on top. The phone will be available in four color options including pink, gold, silver, and black.
The Ascend P7 will go official on May 7th in Paris. Huawei has already sent out invitations to the event so don’t forget to mark the date in your calendar.
