While the biggest smartphone the of the world – the Huawei Ascend Mate is still set to be officially revealed during the CES in just two weeks, some folks were lucky enough to take a pretty good look at it. It happened in one of the Huawei stores when Huawei CEO Richard Yu pulled it out in front of everyone and demonstrated the beast. The Huawei Ascend Mate has be unofficially announced and be sure that phone is BIG.
This 6.1-inch monster of a smartphone, known as the Ascend Mate, is only 0.9 inches shy of being tablet size and comes with 1080p screen which equals an outstanding 361 ppi pixel density. According to earlier rumors, the Ascend Mate is expected to be 9.6 mm thick and will possibly be powered by a 1.8 GHz quad-core HiSilicon K3V3 processor and a 4000 mAh battery will provide juice to keep the lights on.
The handset will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, or quite possibly a later version of the operating system. Of course, these are just speculations and the final specs may differ slightly. The handset will probably be priced just under ¥3,000, which is approximately $480.
Despite the incident at the store, the Ascend Mate will be properly introduced at CES 2013.
