The unannounced HTC Zara that leaked in press renders almost two weeks ago will apparently belong to an existing lineup of smartphones. The phone will become a member of the Desire family and will hit the market as the HTC Desire 601. Or at least that is what @evleaks reports. Since @evleaks is rarely wrong, we have little reason to doubt the news. Previously leaked photo was accompanied by list of key specs so we know more or less what to expect of HTC’s new offering.
HTC Desire 601 vs. HTC Z3
The HTC Zara, which will be referred to as Desire 601 from now on, will allegedly pack a 4.5-inch qHD display and will be powered by a dual-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon processor with Adreno 305 taking care of graphics.
The phone is expected to offer 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory with microSD slot for storage expansion. Other rumored features include Beats Audio, front-facing speakers and an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. The handset is said to run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Sense 5.5 on top.
It looks like the HTC Desire 601 will also have a miniature version, until recently known as HTC Zara Mini. The phone was actually give a green light in China where it will be sold as the HTC 301e. Elsewhere, the device is called HTC Z3, but it might be just another codename and handset may carry the Desire moniker upon launch.
The mini model features 4.3-inch WVGA display, dual-core 1 GHz processor, 5 12MB of RAM and 8 GB of expandable storage. The phone also comes with a 5-megapixel main camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, dual SIM capabilities and unknown version of Android Jelly Bean.
