The HTC One is nearing its first birthday, so it is a perfect time to start thinking what the next flagship smartphone from the Taiwanese company will bring us. With the latest set of rumors the ideas finally start to take shape. The successor of the HTC One will possibly be called HTC One+ but it also goes by the name HTC M8. The name suggests two things: one, that it will be based largely on the current flagship phone, most likely featuring a very similar design; two, it will bring upgrades in major areas.
HTC One+ / HTC M8 – Rumors and speculations.
The device will come with a more powerful processor, most likely the Snapdragon 800. Some speculations mention Snapdragon 805, though it could be a little bit of a stretch because the is expected to come out much later in 2014. On the other hand, smartphone makers have their own ways of surprising us, so you never know.
Another big improvement is said to be the addition of microSD slot. If it proves true, it would clearly mean that HTC is learning its lessons and listens to customers since one of the main complaints about the HTC One is the lack of memory expansion slot.
Other rumored features of the HTC One+ include a larger battery with a capacity of 2,900 mAh, 6 or 8-megapixel UltraPixel camera possibly with double lens, 2.1-megapixel front camera, 2 GB of RAM, NFC and no capacitive buttons. The phone will ship with Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC Sense 6.0 on top.
