Not so long ago we were all talking about cutting edge specs of HTC One M8. The phone was launched with the full package of high end parameters like a 5-inch 1440×2560 screen and Snapdragon 801. But things that were astonishing us few months ago, now don’t sound so fantastic any more. This is why mobile manufacturers like HTC must be in the constant process of designing and launching brand new handsets. Speaking of HTC, the Taiwanese company has been recently speculated to start works on their next flagship, HTC One M9 (though its final official name is reportedly subject to change), which is allegedly scheduled to be presented in March at the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona.
HTC One M9 – First Rumors
If to believe the rumors the new HTC One M9 slate will go on sale equipped with a 5.2-inch screen featuring 1440x2560p resolution that translates to 564ppi pixel density. Compare it with the HTC One M8’s 441 ppi and try to imagine how sharp and vivid the image displayed on such a screen will be like.
Other than that the device is said to be powered by a Snapdragon 805 chipset coupled with 3GB RAM. As for the One M9’s built-in storage, there will be two version of the phone, one with 64GB of free space and second with 128GB. Furthermore, it is also speculated to run Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. Additionally, the phone is also pretty likely to feature a better, more powerful battery and higher IP water and dust resistant certification (the current One M8 carries a IPx3 tag). Higher megapixel camera capability with improved lenses will be also highly demanded.
Despite the fact that this year’s One M8 has been sold pretty quickly, it wasn’t what the company has been expecting. The phone though hitting the market with pretty good specs like a camera unit with refocus of already made pics wasn’t highly praised by both critics and users. Perhaps, the HTC One M9, or whatever it will be eventually called, will provide the manufacturer with larger audience?
We shouldn’t also forget that some time ago there was a discussion about a phablet variant of the One M8, including most of the alleged M9’s features, except the massive 5.5-inch display. Time will show whether the world will see the revamped phablet-sized version of the well -known M8 or the new M9 that is highly probable to become the HTC’s next flagship.
