The HTC One M9 is one of the most anticipated devices of the coming weeks, right next to the Samsung Galaxy S6. As it often happens with popular brands, bits and pieces regarding the phone’s specs have leaked numerous times before the official announcement along with allegedly official photo. Today, however, is the first time that a full list of technical details was revealed and, boy, they are awesome.
HTC One M9 to sport 5″ FHD display, Snapdragon 810, 3GB RAM, and 20.7MP camera
The HTC One M9 still bears the hallmarks of the One series, but the front is noticeably redesigned with all-glass panel. Such solution meant that HTC had to move the BoomSound speakers close to the edges and as a result there was plenty of room on the top bezel to put the selfie camera right in the center.
The display of the HTC One M9 has the same size and resolution as the HTC One M8, that is 5 inches with 1080 x 1920 pixels at 441 ppi pixel density, but thanks to virtually non-existent side bezels the body is slightly smaller which results in screen-to-body ratio of 68.8%.
The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s latest chip, the Snapdragon 810 with a 2.0GHz quad-core Cortex-57 and a quad-core Cortex-A53 running at 1.5GHz, and Adreno 430 to take care of graphics. 3GB of RAM will ensure flawless multitasking and users will be able to choose between 32GB and 64GB of internal memory, each coming with microSD slot for storage expansion.
Camera setup is pretty impressive consisting of 20.7-megapixel main sensor and 4-megapixel UltraPixel user-facing camera. Other features include LTE 6 support, 2,840 mAh battery and Android 5.0.2 Lollipop with Sense 7 on top. Apparently, the One M9 won’t be waterproof but there will be plenty of accessories to pair with the phone including waterproof case and waterproof headset.
The new HTC One M9 is scheduled for official announcement on March 1st at a press event called “Utopia in progress.” Following today’s revelation, however, the event will be nothing more than a formality, since we already know what to expect of the handset. Unless, of course, the leaked specs are bogus and the One M9 has something different in store for us, which frankly speaking is pretty unlikely.
