It’s not much of a surprise that HTC would launch a mini version of its flagship HTC One M8. Actually, the question is not “if” but rather “when”, “how much” and “what specs can we expect.” Following the latest leaks, we can give you answer to at least one of those questions. It appears that you won’t have to wait long months for the HTC One M8 Mini, since its release date is tipped for May, at least in the UK. Yes, that’s next month.
HTC One M8 Mini – What to expect…
It’s not exactly an official announcement, since HTC had nothing to do with the news. The source of the information was an insider in one of the UK retailers who, however, was fairly accurate in the past regarding release date of for example the Sony Xperia E1.
As far as price is concerned, nothing is known at this point besides the fact that the HTC One M8 Mini will be more affordable than the regular HTC One M8. However, we wouldn’t venture a guess as to how big difference in pricing would that be. That leaves us with one more question to answer – “what will the One M8 Mini offer?”
Apparently these details are not official either, but we have some idea of what we can expect. For starters, the HTC One M8 Mini is expected to feature the same exquisite unibody design with brushed-metal finish as the bigger brother.
Since it’s a mini version, it obviously will be smaller with a screen measuring probably 4.5 inches diagonally. Resolution hasn’t been confirmed either, but we wouldn’t expect anything less than 720p. Many potential buyers probably hope that Taiwanese manufacturer will go for 1080p display.
The HTC One M8’s Duo Camera won’t be present on the smaller model. Instead, users will have to make do with a single camera setup, probably UltraPixel. Other details such as the processor, RAM, internal memory or battery life remain unknown. If the HTC One M8 Mini is indeed scheduled for release in May, we should be getting more information soon.
