Some time ago, we passed along a rumor about a new version of the HTC One M8 being in the works. The revamped variation called the HTC One M8 Eye is said to go with a boosted up Duo Camera. Just right now we may take a very first look at the forthcoming handset thanks to the leaked press images presenting the alleged HTC One M8 Eye that popped on the China’s social network Weibo. HTC One M8 Eye first look…
The HTC One M8 Eye’s improved camera would replace the provoking many controversies mere 4-megapixel UltraPixel main unit used in the HTC’s previous flagship model. The new sensor is said to be a 13-megapixel UltraPixels Duo camera, which is reported to produce better quality photos thanks to special technology that allows more light to be absorbed by the sensor when taking a photo.
Furthermore, future M8 Eye’s users will be still able to use ale the depth changing options available featured by the Duo camera as well as to change the focal point of the photo in the same way as a Lytro camera. In other words, we will get pretty much the same camera unit, but with higher number of pixels.
The beefed up 13-megapixel camera is the main design change that occurred in the newcomer. According to the TENNA certification papers (the Chinese equivalent of the FCC) the One M8 Eye, just as the standard One M8 model, will sport a 5-inch display featuring 1080x1920p of resolution. Sadly, the unveiled facts put an end to all the rumors mentioning larger 5.2-inch screen.
There will be also a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter guarantying high quality selfies. Frankly speaking, most other tech specs are expected to be identical to those featured by the One M8, so we will certainly get a handset running Android 4.4 with the Sense 6.0 on the top that will be equipped with the Snapdragon 801 processor and powered by a 2,600mAh battery enclosed in a measuring 146 × 70.6 × 9.4 mm body.
The new HTC smartphone is reported to be available in China and India. It will go on sale in three color options: gold, silver and gray, though when launched for the India market the gray will be replaced by traditional black color scheme. The China targeting model is supposed to support GSM, TD-SCDMA and TD-LTE, while the India version will allegedly sport GSM, TD-LTE and WCDMA connectivity. Another difference may be found in the amount of internal storage, the Chinese version’s built-in memory is expected to be expandable up to 128GB, when the India model sports only a 64GB capacity microSD slot.
Although so far HTC made no official announcement concerning the date of the HTC One M8 Eye debut, it seems pretty reasonable to assume that it may be officially unveiled on October 8 at the company’s press event in New York, since earlier they suggested having plans to unveil something really remarkable, perhaps they made allusions to the M8 Eye. Be sure, we will keep you posted about any further details concerning the Eye. Now while waiting for the great debut feast your eyes on the images published by TENNA and commercial ad that surfaced online.
