Last year the HTC One created quite a stir with its appearance. The phone proved to be a big hit and according to some reports, it’s still one of the most desired devices. It is, however, already one year old which means that it’s time for a successor to take its place. The next-generation One, aka HTC M8, will be announced on March 25th, however, we have found already a video review showing the phone in all its glory.
HTC M8 – The very first hands-on video
The All New One, also referred to as One M8, has been leaked all over the web for the past few weeks. Now, to the bunch of rumors we can also add a leaked 12-minute hands-on video showing the device from every angle. The video, which was originally posted by a person who claims to be a T-Mobile user, was taken down and then re-uploaded so it’s still available for viewing.
The HTC M8 appears to be have very similar design to last year’s One. Both seem to be of the same shape and roughly the same size. The most noticeable difference are the asymmetric dual speakers on the front and the lack of capacitive buttons which were replaced by on-screen buttons in the New One.
The video also shows dual-sensor, dual-LED flash camera on the back, with the main sensor placed were it was before and the secondary sensor located above it. As for now, it is not clear what the purpose of the second sensor is. Allegedly, it might have something to do with focus. The video also confirms that the All New HTC One will sport microSD slot which was missing for the original One.
The All New HTC One will be launched with Android 4.4 KitKat with new HTC Sense 6.0 UI on top. Watching the video you might get the impression that some features didn’t quite work the way they should. It’s not that surprising, though. Apparently the device was an early developer unit which was not destined to be viewed by the public so it might have some bugs. Other rumored features of the New One include a 5-inch 1080 x 1920 display and a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor.
