ByinAnnouncements | September 4, 2014

HTC Desire 820Today, HTC got IFA’s buzzing with introduction of its new smartphone, the HTC Desire 820 powered by 64-bit processor. This new Android phone comes as a successor of the previous successful HTC’s creation the Desire 816. The new Desire 820 is considered to be a mid-ranger with impressive processor and the manufacturer expects that Desire 820 will be as successful in the market as its predecessor.

HTC Desire 820 – New flagship smartphone for mid-range segment.

HTC Desire 820The new HTC Desire 820 sports a potent 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor under its hood and it will become an update for the users as the Android L is becoming available for consumers. HTC has updated the phone’s design by adding a glossy unibody plastic design that is available in multiple two-tone configurations.

As for other specs of the phone, along with a Snapdragon 615 chip, it features A53 cores running at 1.5 GHz and also Adreno 405 GPU. As for the look, the HTC Desire 820 shows off with a 5.5-inch display with 720-pixel resolution. It weighs 155 grams and is 7.74 millimeters which can make it seem a bit too big, but the users of the previous HTC cell phones would not face any difficulties with handling this one, as it’s very easy on the hand.

This new HTC babe also comes with 2GB of RAM with 16GB of expandable storage. The battery offers a pretty good deal with 2,600 mAh unit. Also, we should not forget about the HTC signature BoomSound speakers which won’t disappoint its new owners with loud enough sound experience.

Since cameras seem to be the main feature of recent handsets at IFA, HTC is also emphasizing the Desire 820’s camera. On the back of the Desire 820, there is a 13-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper with BSI sensor and 1080p HD video capture. The main camera has a 28mm lens at f/2.2 which is useful with mobile’s new app called PhotoBooth that can help you create photo collages. Couple of other fancy photo software will help users to add make-up to their photos, to make them look prettier (emergency hot selfie at a sudden request anyone?) and to merge two photographs together to make them into one photo or joining two faces and making it into one.

Other features of the Desire 820 are the custom dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. No need to mention, yet we will mention that this phone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with Sense 6.0 on top.

As for the color opitons that we have briefly mentioned above, the HTC Desire 820 will be available in glossy marble white, glossy santorini white, matte tuxedo grey, glossy milky-way grey, glossy tangerine white, glossy flamingo-grey, glossy saffron grey, glossy blue mist and glossy monarch orange. These color choices can surely fit everyone’s wishes.

As for the price of the handset, it has not been discussed yet, but considering that the manufacturer is targeting the mid-range segment, the Desire 820’s price shouldn’t bite. The shipping of the phone to different markets should start at the end of September.
