It’s perfectly understandable that such premium phones as the recently launched iPhone 6, the Samsung Galaxy S5, the LG G3 or the HTC One M8 are the first to stand in the limelight. After all, who isn’t excited about the latest technology? There are, however, a number of not so high-end phones that still deserve our attention. One of such handsets is the HTC Desire 510 released by Sprint last week. As promised, the phone is now available also at Boost Mobile priced at $99.99 without contract, and will be coming to Virgin Mobile soon.
HTC Desire 510 for Boost Mobile
Despite of the low price listed on Boost Mobile website, the HTC Desire 510 is a pretty decent phone. Unlike other similarly equipped devices which scream lower-end from the moment you open the box, the Desire 510’s design language is aesthetic and very pleasant to the eye. Inside its 139.9 x 69.8 x 10mm body hides a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 processor with four Cortex-A53 CPUs and an Adreno 306 GPU. The chip is 64-bit capable which suggests that the handset may receive Android L update in the future. The phone currently runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat with HTC Sense out of the box, though.
The Desire 510 has a 4.7-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) display with a pixel density of 208 ppi and comes with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. Thanks to microSD slot, this rather modest storage is expandable up to 128GB – more than enough for photos, music and videos. Connectivity options include NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 A2DP and Wi-Fi as well as support for Sprint Spark enhanced LTE network. Last but not least, the handset sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with Full HD 1080p video capture, 1.3-megapixel shooter for selfies, 2100mAh removable battery and HD Voice.
Being a pre-paid carrier, Boost Mobile doesn’t require any contracts – a great alternative for users who are not keen on sticking with one carrier for two years. The Desire 510 is available in white and blue; Boost, however, is offering only the white model. The 510 in blue will land on Virgin Mobile, most likely within the next few days. Whichever color option you choose, the HTC Desire 510 should offer solid experience at budget-friendly price.
