When you hear GooPhone, you probably immediately picture a knock-off device based on one of the most popular brands. And you are right, since the Chinese manufacturer is most famous for making clone devices. However, it appears that the company is perfectly capable of making a phone of their own design, the example the GooPhone X1. The handset for sure will go down to history and not because of its unique features, but its super affordable price. The GooPhone X1 will go on sale costing 499 yuan, which would be about $81, and will be the cheapest quad-core offering ever.
GooPhone X1 Dual-Sim Smartphone under $100
Speaking of specs and features, by no means they are bad, especially at such an attractive price point. The GooPhone X1 sports a 4.7-inch FWVGA display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. Inside there is a 1.2 Ghz quad-core MT6589 processor, which is no surprise at all, since the MediaTek chip, based on the Cortex-A7 architecture from ARM is eagerly used by manufacturers in China.
The handset is equipped with a 2-megapixel rear camera and 1.3-megapixel sensor on the front. The device also offers 512 MB of RAM, dual-SIM support, and a 1,800 mAh battery. The OS of choice is Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Except maybe for the main camera, everything else sounds great, doesn’t it? There is one catch, though. The super budget-friendly price is only valid from certain “local phone providers”. If you buy the phone anywhere else, you will have to pay 593 yuan, or $96 – a little more but still under $100.
