Apple adds more iPhone models to its Trade Up program
The new iPhone 7 has been on sale for almost a week and it’s selling like hot buns. To make the device appear even more attractive and encourage more customers to switch to a new iPhone, all US major carriers are currently offering discounts and even free devices. Unsurprisingly, Apple wasn’t far behind. The company just announced its very own deal as a part of which you can get up to $315 off a new iPhone 7 when you trade in your iPhone 6S, 6S Plus or iPhone SE.

Apple adds more iPhone models to its Trade Up program. You can now trade in the iPhone 6S, 6S Plus or iPhone SE and get the iPhone 7 for as low as $334.

Get $315 off a new iPhone 7
These three models have just been added to Apple’s Trade Up program and since they are pretty fresh being just one generation behind the latest version, they can get you quite generous sum of money to put toward the iPhone 7 or 7 Plus. To be more precise, if you trade in the iPhone 6S Plus, you can get up to $315, while the iPhone 6S and iPhone SE can net you $275 and $170, respectively. Obviously, the amount of money you will get for your phone is not guaranteed and it depends on the device’s condition, whether it’s locked to a carrier or not, etc. However, assuming that you want to trade in a barely used iPhone 6S Plus, a brand new iPhone 7 can cost you just $334.

Have an even older iPhone gathering dust in a far corner of a drawer? You can put it to good use too, as Apple is accepting devices as old as the iPhone 5. For instance, a two-year-old iPhone 6 or 6 Plus is worth to Apple $200 and $225, respectively. The iPhone 5S and 5C, on the other hand, can get you up to $90 and $40, respectively. iPhone 5’s trade-in value is $50. Apple is also accepting some Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone devices.

The trade-in can be done in person in the Apple Store or online. Either way, it’s fast and easy and results in immediate credit which can go toward a new iPhone. There is one downside, though – trade-in value seems to be pretty low compared to other places. That said, if you have some time and don’t need money right now, you can try and sell your old iPhone privately through websites like eBay or Craigslist. It may take longer, but there is a chance the phone will go for more.
