Verizon Galaxy Tab 4Almost three months after Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, Verizon Wireless added the 4G LTE version of the device to its portfolio. The slate is now for sale from the carrier’s online store and for a limited time it costs only $279.99 provided that you sign a new two-year contract. After the special promotion expires Verizon will sell the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 4G LTE for $379.99. Additionally, if you are a More Everything subscriber, you can add the tablet to your existing account for an additional $10 monthly access fee.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 4G LTE for Verizon

Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 4G LTEThe Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 4G LTE for Verizon Wireless is touted as “family tablet” thanks to its new Multi User Mode. If there is a possibility that more than one person will be using the tablet, the feature will definitely come in handy. There’s nothing worse than another user changing your carefully chosen wallpaper, adding or deleting widgets, etc not to mention snooping around your personal info. Multi User Mode allows every member in the family to have their personal tablet experience which they can customize to their liking without interfering with preferences of the others, all that on top of Android 4.4 KitKat.

As far as specs are concerned, the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 offers an 8-inch display with a WXGA (800 x 1280) resolution which works out to a pixel density of approximately 189 ppi. The tablet also packs 3-megapixel main camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing sensor and a 4,450 mAh battery which according to Samsung is capable of delivering up to 12 hours of internet usage time or up to 141 hours of music playback time. In addition to 4G LTE radio, other connectivity features include Bluetooth 4.0 LE, dual-band Wi-Fi and GPS.

It’s curious that the carrier doesn’t mention neither the processor nor RAM. Unless it’s some kind of a special version exclusive to Verizon thus different from the regular model, then we should expected a quad-core chip (most likely Snapdragon 400) clocked at 1.2 GHz and 1.5 GB of RAM. Built-in memory is capable of storing up to 16 GB of content plus there’s microSD slot for storage expansion that can give you up to 64 GB of additional space.

Samsung didn’t go crazy with the hardware but instead opted for reasonable price while keeping the price at a competitive range. Moreover, if you are quick you can save $100 when picking the Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 from Verizon. Sounds good doesn’t it?
