Samsung unveils the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite, a low-end tablet for Samsung fans

ByinTablets | January 17, 2014

Galaxy Tab 3 LiteIn addition to a whole team of tablets announced at CES 2014, Samsung unveiled yesterday one more slate called Galaxy Tab 3 Lite. Actually, the announcement was more of a confirmation, since most specs have already been known for a few days due to Samsung Poland accidentally publishing user manual for then unannounced Galaxy Tab 3 Lite. Samsung official blog does not reveal pricing but we know what to expect, again thanks to Polish retailer x-kom.pl offering the tablet for PLN 799, which is about $260 or €190. We have no reason to suspect that pricing in other markets will be much different.

7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 LiteTrue to its name, the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite is not heavy weight player with high-end specs and advanced features. On the contrary, the tablet is a low-end offering in almost every aspect and would be a good choice for first-time tablet users who are looking to explore new ways of entertainment on the go. The slate sports a 7-inch 1,024 x 600 touch screen and is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor.

Inside the tablet’s 4.58 x 7.61 x 0.38 inch (116.4 x 193.4 x 9.7 mm) body sits 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory expandable up to 32 GB via microSD slot. The tablet is also equipped with a 2-megapixel rear camera with such features as Smile Shot, Shoot & Share, Panorama Shot and more.

According to Samsung, the 3,600 mAh battery is good for up to 8 hours of usage time. The Galaxy Tab 3 Lite runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with TouchWiz skin and comes pre-loaded with a number of apps and services including ChatON, Samsung Link, Samsung Voice, Polaris Office, Chrome and more.
