Galaxy Note 8 Emperor Edition to offer 8GB RAM and 256GB Storage

Scheduled to officially debut on August 23rd, the Galaxy Note 8 is one of the most frequently rumored devices in recent weeks. According to most recent leaks, Samsung is going to launch a special edition of the upcoming phablet flagship. Called the Emperor Edition, the device will come with 8GB RAM and 256GB of built-in storage and we cross our fingers that won’t explode due to so much power under the hood.

Scheduled to officially debut on August 23rd the Galaxy Note 8 is one of the most frequently rumored devices

Rumor has it that the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 will be available in two variants: standard and special. Equipped with 8GB RAM the Emperor Edition will be a real power-beast available in select markets.

First rumors about the Galaxy Note 8 Emperor Edition surfaced the net two month ago. They all suggested that Samsung wants to make significant upgrades on the device in terms of RAM and ROM. Keeping in line with previous leaks, the today’s news confirms the thesis saying that the Emperor Edition will come with 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. In comparison, the international model, which is already in the phase of testing, will most likely debut with 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

However, before you get too excited be aware that the Samsung’s new power-beast will be more likely an Asia-only offering. Truth to be told, special editions of Samsung’s Galaxy flagship handsets are quite a tradition on the Asian market. The Galaxy S8 Plus has a similar version. The Emperor Edition of the flagship smartphone was first launched to China and South Korea and then spread to Japan. The upgraded device differs from its international variant in terms of the amount of RAM and ROM. Instead of 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage found in the standard model, the Galaxy S8 Plus  Emperor boast 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. If to believe rumors, Samsung wants to do the same with the Note 8.

Both models, the standard and the Emperor Edition, will be available in the company’s home market, whereas in China the Note 8 will be accessible only in the Emperor variant. Since Samsung have recently lost a lot of market share in China, which is considered one of the biggest smartphone market, they decided to introduce a more aggressive launching policy offering noticeably better value for money than they counterparts in other countries.

The Galaxy Note 8 Emperor Edition will arrive dressed in black, grey and blue. As for pricing it is rumored to cost something round $1,000. Let’s hope that for such money we will get a warranty that it won’t explode just like its predecessor used to.
